African Relish - an Activity Hub in the Karoo town of Prince Albert

Established in 2007, African Relish boasts a beautiful venue in the main road of Prince Albert. It’s contemporary culinary building sit alongside the restored 200 year old Langhuis, framing the entrance to the olive orchard and lush kitchen garden.

The setting has hosted countless cooking classes, celebratory birthday, wedding and family events. We have prepared thousands of meals, hosted team building visitors, arranged local foodie tours and brought local products to the towns visitors and local population.

African Relish is managed by PACT. The 15 year old Prince Albert Community Trust comprises a skilled team of experienced educators and graduates who run multiple projects in town. The highly successful, annual Journey to Jazz festival bears testament to their considerable organisational skills.

PACT have established a Wellness centre in the Langhuis building - alongside the culinary operations and developed and sell ONS Karoo Botanicals body care range.

SUMMER NEWS Wed December 4, 2024

The African Relish venue is thrilled that PACT (Prince Albert Community Trust) have moved into their new premises in the Langhuis, with access to the gardens ,and cooking school for their various events and workshops. The African Relish cooking school offers Karoo influenced cooking classes with chef Michelle Lottering. The summer gardens are full of flowers, herbs and vegetables.

For those who have not met Michelle, she has been hosting our cooking classes together with Madri and Orscilla over the last year. With guest favourite chef Shane, she will now head up the cooking school. The team look forward to receiving you at African Relish. Classes run over a half day unless otherwise requested.
