Story teller Isabeau Reynvoet visits African Relish.
In January we had a visit to the hot Karoo by Isabeau and her partner from their home in wintery Belgium. Isabeau is a journalist and photographer who owns a travel website called www.getguided.be recording her travels as a Millennial, recommending and highlighting out of the ordinary travel spots around the world.
After booking to stay with us on her 3 week tour of the Western Cape, Isabeau contacted us to introduce her blog. We were able to offer her and her partner a Foodie Tour in our Tuk Tuk and a half day cooking class with Chef Alexa.
In chatting to Isabeau after her experience, we inquired whether we could use her photographs in this post on our AR website. These wonderful images tell us strong story about food travel. We also asked her for some background information.
How I heard about African Relish?
I got the tip from @elle_and_rapha, fellow Belgian Instagrammers who had an amazing time at African Relish last year.
A few sentences about Guided?
Guided (www.getguided.be) is the place on the internet where I share my travel stories, tips and tricks with the world. From the tastiest restaurants and most beautiful Airbnb’s, to the best road trip routes and local experiences. Where the locals have been going for ages, what is hip and happening right now and everything in between. Plus the occasional reminder to #neverstopexploring. In short: Guided is a travel blog run by Belgian writer and photographer Isabeau Reynvoet. The site wants to inspire you to travel through experience and see the world through the eyes of a local.
Culinary Tourism aka food travel.
For a macro picture of food travel trends from The World Food Travel Association, of which African Relish is a member, states culinary tourism is now mainstream, 53% of all travelers are culinary travelers.
